Compressing QT movie for iDVD

Can someone tell me if it is even possible to compress a Quicktime movie that is 720X480, 27.97 GB, and duration is 02:12:05, to fit on a regular DVD? If not, I guess I'll be buying a dual layer dvd. Thanks for any help with this.

You can put that much onto a 4.3 gig DVD, but even with Dolby audio and no montion menus, your bit rate will be 4.3/7.8.

The quality is going to be rather poor.
