Re: Compressor 3 preset?

Hello all,

I am using Compressor 3 finally after too long with stuck with the old Compressor and dealing with error after error. Anyway, I was using Ken's Bit Budget worksheet and it said to set my settings at 6.8 and 7.8 in the quality tab. I used to be able to do that in the old Compressor, but in 3, it won't let me set it to that. If I set the slider to 6.8, the other slider goes to 8.0. If I slide that one down, the other one goes to 6.6. Is there any way to change that? Or is this a new behavior that is actually being helpful by preventing me from setting things wrong? Sorry if this is such a newbie question.

Hi Tom,

In order for Compressor to work properly, there needs to be a certain amount of space between average and max bit rates.

Apple ganged the two, average and max, together in Compessor 3.

I think that you'll find that you can set 6.8/8.0. THis would be okay.
