working with 24p normal in a 23.98 timeline (September 06, 2008 02:34AM) nickeroo
Hi Everyone,

My question has to do with working with footage I shot on a DVX100. It is 24p normal and I would like to edit on a 23.98 timeline. I believe I have to remove the timeline to do this, I know this can be done with cinema tools, can someone write down the steps to do this within FCP 6.04?

I have read the article on this website about the difference between 24p normal and advanced, and I know it says if you shot on 24p normal you can just edit within a 29.97 timeline, but I find when I do that it looks very interlaced and is not a clear picture. So I want to edit on 23.98 so that it is progressive which will also allow me to create a 24p dvd with a higher quality bit rate.

Also, if I am prepping photos in photoshop to edit in the 23.98 timeline, what settings should I look at?

Many thanks
