uninstall final cut studio 6

hi all need some help . . . i currently have final cut studio 6 on my macbook pro. got final cut studio 7 a few months ago and it's still in the box. what steps do i need to uninstall fcs 6 before i install fcs 7? been reading some stuff online and seems like the uninstall process is a bit of a pain. can someone give me advice before i proceed?
