Cross-Platform Codecs?

Wonder if anyone can suggest a solution to this problem. I have a client who needs to view video clips on both PC and Mac. They have given me AVCHD files, which I can transcode using FCP 7 to ProRes. However, they will only play as QT files on their Mac. Her colleague uses PC and needs to view the same clips on her computer as well.
Solutions?
