Re: change source material in FCP timeline?

Hello there,

What is the best way to change source material in FCP timeline? I have edited a short piece and want to exchange material with a higher quality clip. DO I just rename clip at it's destination and then do reconnect media? or is there an easier way?

Sorry if this question seems silly but how do I do that? Is there a function in the toolbar to replace or overwrite? or do I rename the clip in the browser or at its destination folder ?

Drag the clip to the Canvas window and drop on Overwrite.

Be sure that you have placed the playhead in the timeline in the correct position, where you want the clip to overwrite.
