FCP 7 vs FCP X

I'm purchasing a new MacPro-12 core...will I be able to use FCP7 on this - and if so - is it even available? Not sure I want to go to FCP X. Thanks all, Margo

FCP 7 will run on Lion, the OS that is currently shipping on new Macs.

You'll have to call Apple in order to purchase FC Studio 3 (I'm assuming that they are still selling it).

Your new 12 core will easily run either or both applications. Be sure to get plenty of ram installed and a good graphics card. Don't be afraid of FCPX, in fact, I believe you can install it as a trial app before purchasing. While it still has some bugs, like all applications, it is a fine NLE.
