Advice on Photoshop Orton/depth of field choices

Starting with first-time Photoshop elements and plan to use it on that Raoul Walsh trailer, noticed there seems to be 3 choices, depth of field, Gaussian blur and Orton effect. Any particular one better than the other?

Test them out and see which one you like the best.
