In Compressor...Opening Batch Monitor

I'am following Jeff Warmouth's 1/19/2004 instructions to encode a FCP project using Compressor v 1.2.1
Everything was fine until I got to SUBMIT. I then got a warning...CANNOT SUBMIT BATCH unable to connect to background process
