AVI format (September 25, 2008 12:23AM) 1jja
Hey guys.

I have been given an 3 AVI File each at a frame size of 400x420. They run at a video rate of 82, 85 and 78 fps.
Alpha is Straight
Data Rate is 592.5 K/sec, 693.1 k/sec and 843.8 k/sec
Field dom is none
Pixel aspect is Square

No audio. I am able to import the file but when I open it in the viewer, I can not see an image. It is just black. How am I able to see the file and it's content?

I have FCP 5.1.4
G5 Power mac
Mac OS Vers. 10.4.11

Thanks for you help.

Jon

What codec are the AVI files? Since AVI is merely a wrapper, any given AVI could be made from any number of codecs. if you don't have the proper codec installed on your system, you wouldn't be able to view the file.

I'd recommend asking the person that gave you the file what codec they used to create it.
