voice over issue in FCP 5.14

voice over issue in FCP 5.14 (September 27, 2008 07:52AM) DARREN US1
Hi Ken,

I just installed an Alesis MultiMix8 USB2.0 mixer and external microphone on my iMacPro OS10.5 computer.
However, when I go to tools and then voice-over the mixer does show up in the microphone menu but when I
choose the Alesis MultiMix the Final Cut Pro turns off by itself. I can use the internal microphone but not the
mixer or external mike. Could you please help me? Why does it keep turning off not allowing me to use the
equipment?

Thanks,
Darren Luhrs

The only thing I could suggest would be to go into System Prefs > and see if the device shows up in Output and or Input and select it there.

I does sound to me like FCP is not able to see an external mixer, it does have it's own internal mixer.

I have a Mackie mixing board setup with my NLE, but FCP can not see it, I use it for input and output, but for the Mac and not for FCP. I can direct audio out from FCP, but I have inserted a iMic USB device between the Mac and my mixing board, which shows up in System Prefs > Sound.
