Re: Avid Editor Making the Switch

Well, I'd never fully make the switch, but I do need to be able to edit in both after being exclusive to avid for 12 years (probably should have years ago...)

I took a course called "FCP for Avid editors" and the instructor strongly suggested that I do NOT map my keyboard in a similar way to my Avid keyboard. This floored me - I figured that's the first thing I'd do. Like most Avid editors, keyboard editing and shortcuts are vital to speedy editing, and it seems Final Cut has the same ability to customize...

Any thoughts from those of you who have extensive experience editing both applications?

I will say I was impressed more than I was disappointed so far - can't wait to edit a real project on it.
