Off-Topic - PAL tape conversion to NTSC

I'm using the Mac and FCP. I have a Samsung SV-5000W that I use to convert PAL VHS to NTSC but the problem I'm having
is that I can only see black and white although the tape is color. I have the manual but I must not be pressing the right buttons
on the remote Menu to get color. I have the unit connected to a playback deck by S-Video and the playback deck is firewired
into the Mac and I can see the video in the L&C window of FCP. If anyone has any experience with this unit I would appreciate
any help you can give me. I don't get a PAL conversion request too often but I would like to be able to see the video in
color from a color tape.
