Over Exposed Video...Best Tool?

I recently had to switch cameras on the fly to catch some footage. The camera's Iris was open a little too much and slightly over exposed the video images. Is there a better tool then the "Image Brighness and Contrast" tool in FCP for trying to correct this problem. The video is slightly over exposed and not super washed out, but needs some help. Thanks.....

I have had some luck using the color corrector 3 way and toning down just the whites in similar situations.
