Green Circle with the Check Mark

Hi Ken,

Please refresh my memory. What does the green circle with the check marked indicate when it appears at the top of the Canvas window?

Thanks,
Phil

Phil,

Green is fine when it turns yellow it means excess luma. From the right menu box in the canvas or viewer.

Hopefully related question- in the olden times, excess luma = an annoying buzz in the audio, as in when a lower third title would fade on @ 120 IRE, you would get a horrible ZZZZZZZ for the duration. I have not heard that problem in w ahile- does that mean that newer televisions and/or monitors don't have that problem, or are post folks just getting more careful?

Just wonderin',

Hi Mikey,

Nothing has changed with existing TVs so it probably is the fact that people are getting better at this and now know about Broadcast specs.

Just my guess.

Could also be used for checking Excess Chroma.
