Re: FCP Training Lessons

I just bought Diana Weynand's FCP 6 book with the DVD lessons, and when I try to open the lessons, it says the lesson version is newer than the version I have? I'm running FCP 6.0 on a G5 Dual 2ghz with OS 10.4.9

Do any of you have this book or these problems? What OS should I be running?
I run Pro Tools HD on 10.4.9, which is why I haven't upgraded to 10.4.11 (kind of buggy alledgedly)

Any advice is welcome : )

Hi Steve,

Check in the documentation, does it give system and FCP requirements.

The tut DVD could have projects created in FCP 6.0.1 or higher, which means that you won't be able to open the projects unless you upgrade.

All I see is FCP 6.0 and nothing listed abou the OS requirements.
I thought you could do "get info" on a FCP session and
see what version it is, but all I see is "Final Cut Pro Document"
Do I need OS10.4.11 to get the 6.0.1 version? Should I just go to the
6.0.3 version?

Is there a 'read me' file on the DVD?

Run software Updates and see what comes up for FCP.

At 10.4.9, there are no updates for FCP.
I think they start at 10.4.10 and for sure 10.4.11

I just wanted to make sure I could
run Pro Tools on 10.4.11 without problems...lol

I updated to 10.4.11 and got all the updates, and now have FCP 6.0.4 and the lessons open fine.
Now it's time to hit the book and rock this thing!
