Re: File I/O error

File I/O error (October 25, 2012 02:26PM) cooldad414
Hi All

using FCP 7 mac OS 10.6.8

I am trying to get a 58 minute project to a qt file. After it goes through the process for about 13% I get an error message--File I/O error. I am lost. I did another project also 58 minutes to qt file and it went fine.

Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated

Thanks

David

Hi David,

Check to be sure that you have enough open space on the drive that you are saving the QT to.

Also, check your timeline. Any stills? FCP does not work properly with CYMK or grayscale images. Also be sure that no image is larger than 4,000 x 4,000 pixels.

Hi Ken

Thanks for the reply.

There is enough room on the drive saving to. No stills at all

I spoke to the client and she told me she has had issues with some of the clips that were used before in the past so there must be some kind of glitch in a clip.

Thanks again

Hi David,

Digital Rebellion has a repair tool, it looks for corrupted clips.

You can write to them to find which 'tool' you would need. Digital Rebellion is a good company and has supported the FCP community for many years now.
